Please come visit my instruments at the
2005 Boston Early Music Festival and Exhibition.

I will be exhibiting two new harpsichords, both inspired by 17th-century Italian work, recently delivered to the Boston area.

Large exhibits will be held on the 24th floor of Boston's downtown Radisson Hotel, and I will be in Room 2406. Hours of the Exhibition are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, June 15-17, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.

One of the harpsichords on display, seen in the picture below, has already made its public debut in several important concerts, including Boston Baroque's monumental performance last October of Handel's Julius Caesar. The other recently took its place in Boston University's early music program.

In addition, I will be showing this small medieval clavichord based upon instructions found in a manuscript from Wroclaw, c.1470, as reported in an important recent article on early clavichords by John Koster.

The best part of exhibiting at venues like BEMF is the opportunity to step back and enjoy demonstration recitals by fine performers. Here are the recitals I have scheduled:

Wednesday, June 15:
1 p.m. - Rebecca Pechefsky

Thursday, June 16:
4 p.m. - Meg Cotner
5:30 p.m. - Peter Sykes

Friday, June 17
2:30 p.m. - Margaret Irwin-Brandon
5 p.m. - Judith Conrad

Saturday, June 18
11:30 a.m. - Frances Fitch
1 p.m. - Peter Sykes
3 p.m. - Lionel Party
